Knaresborough is a small, historic town in North Yorkshire. It is a market town full of medieval streets and home to the ruins of a medieval castle. Knaresborough sits on the edge if the River Nidd and has a population size of around 15,000 people. It hosts the bed race every year and has one of the oldest tourist attractions in England: ‘Mother Shipton’s Cave’. With its beautiful views and surplus of attractions Knaresborough is a great place to spend time away.

Castle Yard car park

Castle Yard car park is the closest car park to the historic Knaresborough Castle: the ruins of a 14th century castle. The car park has a tight entrance and between two pillars so it might be a squeeze for wider cars to get through but as police vans drive through daily you shouldn’t face any issues. There are disabled parking places for the castle as well as a set of public toilets. It’s also only a short distance from the town centre and River Nidd allow easy access to all parts of Knaresborough. The car park is open 24/7 and the charge times are between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Chapel Street car park

Right in the heart of Knaresborough the Chapel Street car park is the perfect place to park if you are looking to enjoy all of the wonderful shops, pubs, bars and restaurants Knaresborough has to offer. The car park is small but there are still plenty of places to park. There is easy access from the streets and it is only over the road from the Fisher Street car park so if you can’t get find a place to park you can always try over the road. It is also a great place to park up and walk to the River Nidd or Fysche Field and children’s play park next to the Knaresborough Swimming Pool. The car park is open 24/7 and the charge times are between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Just off the main high-street Fisher Street car park is the perfect place to park if you are looking to experience the lively streets and shops of Knaresborough. Located in the east of Knaresborough York Place car park is one of the best places to park in Knaresborough. It’s a large car park with a set of public toilets and is available for both car and coach parking. There is a nice view that looks over the country side and some of the houses in Knaresborough. The car park is only a short walk from the central hub of shops in the town centre and is one of the cheapest car parks in Knaresborough all year round. York place car park gives you easy access to the town centre, Knaresborough Swimming Pool, Lidl and Chain Lane Community Hub. The car park is open 24/7 and the charge times are between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Waterside car park

The Waterside car park is right on the edge of the River Nidd. It’s the perfect place to park up and enjoy a waterside walk along the river. The car park is quite and has plenty of places to park. It has a wide entrance but there is a narrow road that connects it to the main road. There are also several cafés located along the river just a short walk from the car park. It is the cheapest car park in Knaresborough and is also just a short walk from Mother Shipton’s Inn on the Knaresborough Low Bridge. The car park is open 24/7 and the charge times are between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
